The 2022–2024 Cummins ECM Swap Explained
The 2022–2024 Cummins ECM Swap Explained
I already have tuning on my 2022–2024 Cummins 6.7, but I don't want to wait for my factory ECM to be unlocked. Can I do the ECM swap instead?
Yes. You can use a 2019–2021 ECM along with 2022–2024 custom tuning as an alternative to waiting for your factory ECM to be unlocked.
To complete the process, we will need a copy of your truck's stock file. There are two ways to provide it:
Option 1: Send us your factory ECM, and we will pull the stock read from it.
Option 2: Use an HP Tuners device to read your factory ECM and email us the stock file.
Once we have the stock file, we will modify it for use with the 2019–2021 ECM, load the custom tuning onto the replacement ECM, and ship it back to you ready for installation.
Additional Requirements
Installing the ECM yourself?
You will need a Cummins bypass cable so your tuning device can communicate properly with the truck.
Want Switch-On-The-Fly (SOTF) tuning?
You will also need a CCV SOTF cable.
Already have EZ Lynk?
We can use EZ Lynk to deliver your updated tune files. However, EZ Lynk cannot pull a stock read from your factory ECM. You will still need an HP Tuners device or will need to send us your factory ECM so we can obtain the stock file.
Don't Have HP Tuners?
We offer an HP Tuners loaner device program.
- $410 purchase required
- $100 rental fee
- $300 refunded once the device is returned
- Customer is responsible for return shipping
This allows you to pull the stock file needed for the ECM swap without purchasing a new HP Tuners device.
