Fitment Note (Read Before Ordering)
Compatibility Summary
- 2019–2023 L5P: Direct ECM and TCM tuning with EZ Lynk 3.0 — no ECM unlock required.
- 2017–2018 L5P: TCM tuning is supported directly. SOME trucks require an ECM unlock via HP Tuners before engine tuning with EZ Lynk.
2017–2018 L5P — Important Details
- If the truck’s ECM has already been unlocked/tuned with HP Tuners: You can switch to our EZ Lynk tuning with no additional unlock required.
- If the truck has NOT been unlocked: An HP Tuners ECM unlock is required before EZ Lynk can perform engine tuning. EZ Lynk does not perform the ECM unlock on these model years.
- Alternative: Install a dealer-supplied new/replacement ECM (updated 2019+ part numbers). A dealer-installed, up-to-date ECM will not require an HP Tuners unlock and can be tuned directly with EZ Lynk.
TCM Notes
- Both T93 and T87A TCMs can be unlocked and tuned using EZ Lynk 3.0 and our tuning — no prior TCM unlock required.
Interchange & Existing Tunes
- Vehicles currently tuned with HP Tuners or another EZ Lynk tuner: EZ Lynk erases and rewrites ECM/TCM data as part of the process, so switching to our tuning is supported.
What to Do Before Ordering
- Verify your truck year and whether the ECM was previously unlocked/tuned.
- If you have a 2017–2018 L5P that has NOT been unlocked, plan to obtain an HP Tuners ECM unlock before purchasing engine tuning through EZ Lynk — or consider installing a dealer-updated ECM first.
Short FAQ
- Q: Can I tune the transmission on any L5P? A: Yes — TCM tuning supported for all listed models with EZ Lynk 3.0.
- Q: Does EZ Lynk unlock 2017–2018 ECMs? A: No. HP Tuners must perform the ECM unlock for those model years.
- Q: I have a dealer-installed new ECM from 2019–2023 — do I need an unlock? A: No — dealer-updated ECMs with 2019+ part numbers do not require an HP Tuners unlock.

Additional Features & Notes:

- A dash message reset file will be provided (with instructions) if needed after tuning
- Trucks with modifications such as FASS, CP3 conversions, upgraded turbos (including big turbo, modified VGT, or non-VGT setups), injectors, or major engine changes will require custom file setup—please contact us prior to ordering
- All major modified setups are fully supported under lifetime tuning
